ETC 2018

The technology training at Modesto JC focuses on showing faculty how to leverage Canvas (our Schoology) to help close equity gaps in our courses. Research shows that students from disproportionately impacted groups tend to benefit from a personal connection with the instructor and peers in what some scholars call a \"Relationships Before Pedagogy\" approach to teaching and learning. Technology makes this possible in new and meaningful ways. In this presentation I will show how MJC has closed equity gaps on its own campus by coupling research-based techniques with technology-enhanced instruction.
